Home sweet home

HOME. I know I’ve promised you pictures of my New York apartment a million times but believe it or not, I’m still not 100% done decorating it. When Mattias and I moved here we decided not to bring any of our old furniture from Stockholm with us (shipping it across the Atlantic seemed like too much work) and pretty much started from scratch, so it’s been a slow process to say the least.

Anyway, things are finally starting to come together so I thought I’d share this picture of what our living room (my favorite part of our apartment!) currently looks like. I’m by no means an expert when it comes to interior design but it’s one of my biggest passions and I’ve been having a blast decorating our new home!

  1. Karin: Aren’t they great?! They’re vintage nesting tables from the 60’s! :)

  2. I love it! I can’t wait to see the rest of your apartment.
Decorating a home with new furniture is always fun!

  3. Your living room looks amazing! You could definitely call yourself an expert. I can’t wait to see the rest of your apartment.

  4. i love it! it looks so fabulous and amazing, as though it’s straight out of Elle’s interior magazine or something. but i definitely think that your natural personal style has seeped through and makes you such a fabulous interior designer. i want you to design my new home when i move in

  5. Beautiful! Carolina, are all 5 of the tables vintage? I love the side tables as well as the nesting ones. Where did you find them?

  6. I already love the cushion arrangements and the B&W carpet is fabulous. I like the hints of color peeking in without disrupting the of course main white focus which so many of your inspirations a la pinterest has hailed from. Gorgeous and hope to see more! Btw, you need to seriously check out my statement CÉLINE COLORBLOCK “it” coat from the FW12-3 collection that totally looks like JOSEPH’S amazing technicolor dreamcoat, it’s guaranteed to provoke. Definitely one of my BEST investments in fashion ever (judging from all the compliments). #DREAMCOAT

  7. Wow!! The Living room looks fab!! Loving the little splash of green that the cushions add!!

  8. When it comes to decor and design, you either have ‘it’ or you don’t. You definitely have it! Looks fantastic :-)

  9. It looks absolutely stunning so far. You should definitely share photos of the process itself, it’s just as fun. =)

  10. Glad you finally broke down and shared! You know, if I showed somebody my home and it looked like this, and I said it wasn’t finished yet, they’d have me committed. It’s so great, I can’t wait to see what amazing things are still to come.

  11. Experience or not, you’re doing a great job! I love the muted palette and the mix of pillows.

  13. May I ask where are the amazing black and white (are they tie dye?!!) pillows from? I absolutely love them! And are those shearling pillows at the back as well?
